Buxus Sempervirens – Common Box


Common Box Hedge is a popular evergreen, shade-tolerant plant. It is used for topiary as it takes clipping very well and is the mainstay of a formal garden planting Scheme. Feed it with Buxus Fertiliser which will help with box blight and prune it in dull overcast weather as it has a tendency to scorch if trimmed on a sunny day. Do not let it dry out in hot weather.

Position: Full sun / partial shade /Deep shade
Soil: Well-drained fertile soil- Dislikes waterlogged soil
Hardiness: Hardy
Height: Can be pruned to desired height for hedging purposes
Hedging Spacings: 20 cm (18”) apart
